so we had a little scare today!

i am 24 weeks and 3 days pregnant.....i have been spotting since last night...and crampy..and just not feeling right.... they found brennans' heartbeat right away, it was nice and steady in the 150s my blood pressure was fine, and urine looked good, but then the dr. did a vaginal exam, and i have to have an ultrasound at 1:15--the dr. didnt' mention dilation or anything.... i will update when we know more!!

so we're back from the ultrasound here's the update--

i just got back from the ultrasound and PRAISE THE LORD everything looks great!!! my cervix is completly shut, the placenta is right where it needs to be, and best of all Brennan is looking awesome!!! He is just growin just as he should be..his heart, brain, and all that look fabulous!! he is almost 2 pounds already, and measuring a few days ahead! so there is no explanation for the bleeding, so i just have to watch the spotting, and just rest up--- my dr. will call later for a follow up... but as of right now all is well!!! i was so relieved to look on that ultrasound screen and see my sweet miracle just a moving--he was even playing with his little mouth!!!

um wow its been way to long ---

so i'm way behind on the ol blog!!

lets' see i am now at 23 weeks !!!
Let the good times roll!!

oh and most everyone knows WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!
woo hoo thank you Lord..everything looked perfect at the ultrasound..

we are about 90 percent sure that we will name our boy Brennan Michael...well i'm 100 percent sure bryan is not all the way convinced, but i politely keep reminding him that I am the one doing all the work, so I should get to name the child:)

The pregnancy is flying by, and Brennan is making himself known, with lots of kicks and flips!:)

17 weeks

Guess what? Your amazing baby is getting EVEN bigger, more beautiful, and smarter every day! As you’ve come to expect, there’s no shortage of growth and development this week: your fantastic little bean stalk has added yet another half inch to its overall height (which makes them about 6 inches long). Their little limbs have reached (or are within one week of) their relative proportions, and will continue to grow evenly with the rest of the body after this week. Reactive listening has begun for your baby, even though their ears are not yet structurally complete or fully functional. Meanwhile, different parts of their astonishingly complex brain are developing to process your little one’s hearing and other five senses, (you know, sight, smell, taste and touch). Mind boggling factoid of the week: if you’re having going to have a little girl, her ovaries have already produced millions of primordial egg cells, which, within a few weeks, will develop into actual eggs! Phew… just wait till she’s a teenager eh?

16 weeks

Over the past three weeks your astounding growing baby has managed to stretch yet another 2 full inches (totaling about 4.5”) and weighs around 3.5 ounces. That’s pretty serious growth, and with it comes several physical developments! For starters, their head to body ratio is finally starting to even out a bit as the rest of the body is actually growing faster than the head at this point. Finally, your little light bulb is not so top-heavy. Their adorable little limbs have lengthened, almost reaching their normal proportions which they will have at birth. Their eyes are still closed but moving now and if you had an ultrasound, which many doctors recommend you have at about this time, you may even see your little one sucking on a thumb, not to mention the necessary signifiers to let you know whether you’ve got a wee lad or lassie.

15 weeks!!

At around 4 inches long, crown to rump, your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 ounces. He's busy inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid, which will help the air sacs in his lungs develop. His legs are growing longer than his arms now, and he can move all his joints and limbs. That means his hands are more functional, too. Sweat glands are appearing, and although his eyelids are fused shut, he can sense light. If you were to shine a flashlight at your tummy, he'd be likely to move away from the beam.

14 Weeks!!!

All the basic structures of your baby's body — internally and externally — are formed now. Of course, they're still very tiny. Head to bottom, your baby is just 3 1/2 inches long — about the length of a lemon — and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces.
Your baby's body is growing faster than her head, which now sits upon a more well-defined neck. By the end of this week, her arms will have lengthened and will be in proportion to the rest of her body. (Her legs still have some growing to do, though.) She's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair all over her body called lanugo. Her liver starts secreting bile this week, a sign that it's already functioning properly, and her spleen starts contributing to the production of red blood cells.

Your baby's also producing and discharging urine into the amniotic fluid, a normal process that she'll keep up until birth. You still can't feel your baby's movements, but her hands and feet (now half an inch long) are more flexible and active. Thanks to brain impulses, her little facial muscles are getting a workout as she squints, frowns, and grimaces. She can grasp now, too, and she may be able to suck her thumb.

13 weeks!!

Your belly may soon be big enough to announce to the world that you're expecting, but your baby is still tiny. In fact, he's only about 3 inches long, crown to rump — roughly the size of a jumbo shrimp — and weighs just about an ounce. Despite being so small, there's a fully formed baby inside your womb now who's much more proportional than he was a few weeks ago. In previous weeks, your baby's head dwarfed the rest of him — but now his head is only about a third the size of his body. His tiny, unique fingerprints are already in place. His kidneys and urinary tract are functional, and he's starting to urinate out the amniotic fluid he's been swallowing.

12 weeks

Ok so I'm posting this a few days early;)

Your baby's hit the 2-inch mark (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce. Her face is beginning to look more human. Her eyes, which started out on the sides of her head, have moved closer together on her face, and her ears are near their final positions on the sides of her head. Your baby's intestines, which have grown so rapidly that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into her abdominal cavity about now. Her kidneys are secreting urine into her bladder. Her nerve cells have been multiplying rapidly, and synapses (neurological pathways in the brain) are forming. Your baby may have acquired more reflexes by now, including sucking, and she'll even squirm if you prod your abdomen, though you still won't be able to feel her movement for several weeks.

ob update

i'm back from my ob appointment with happy news:)

lets see i was happy to learn i was wrong about my weight gain...as of today i have gained 7.5 pounds:) not bad for 12 weeks, but i know that will go up and up, especially over Thanksgiving and Christmas:)

i am so glad to have the pap and all that done--uugh--

We get to have our level 2 ultrasound the week of jan. 1- so that makes me happy:)

and since i am having a repeat c-section , dr. said he will schedule it at 39 weeks, so my new date is may 13!!:)

what a happy day!!

Monday, October 30, 2006

I will have my first regular ob appointment with dr. day on Wednesday. I am not looking forward to the exam, and bloodwork, but I am excited to hear the heartbeat again, and I am going to ask dr. day what week we get to find out if its a boy or a girl:);)and since i'm having a repeat c-section, whats the earliest he'll let me plan to have it:):)
so I will update later this week:);)

11 weeks

here's info on baby ray-ray as daddy likes to call this baby!:)

Your fig-size baby is now fully formed — measuring 1 1/2 inches long and weighing in at a quarter of an ounce. His skin is still transparent, allowing many of his blood vessels to show through. Some of his bones are beginning to harden. His fingers and toes have separated, and he may soon be able to open and close his fists. He's already busy kicking and stretching, and his tiny movements are so fluid they look like water ballet. These movements will increase as his body grows and becomes more developed and functional. As your baby's diaphragm develops, he may also start getting the hiccups. Because he's still so small, you won't feel any of his aquatic workouts or intrauterine gulps for another month or so.

all about the wee one

This week in particular, the irises of their little eyes can function, but (frustratingly for them?) their eyelids remain fused shut for a while yet. The external ears are formed, and their inner ears are now filled with fluid—so your little one actually has started to develop their sense of balance. Your baby's little swimmer legs are still relatively short, although other developments are going forward at a nice pace: their kidney is actually functioning now, which means they’ve started urinating (this might seem charming now but wait till you have to start buying diapers!).

Everything looks great! Only 3 more days till we see our little peanut on the ultrasound!!

My numbers are now-

hcg-16,370
progesterone-32.3!!!

update on the bean:)

This week, your baby is about the size of a small lentil bean. Her brain, muscles, and bones are beginning to take shape. Her hands and feet resemble little paddles, with thick webbing still in place between her developing fingers and toes. And her tiny heart has begun beating. Though you probably won't actually feel anything for another ten weeks or so, she's about to make her very first movements.

Our New Baby

Your baby is now 1 to 2 millimeters long — about the size of a sesame seed — and enjoying his first huge growth spurt. He still resembles a tadpole more than anything else, but already the cells for his vital organs, including his kidneys and liver, are forming, and this week his heart will begin beating!!!

How awesome is our God?
